Major Responsibilities
  • Job Description
  • - Create the vision and guide a team of engineers to build & support the Toffee platform (frontend and backend).
  • - End-to-End technical leader who brings considerable experience designing and implementing different digital platforms/ solutions using a broad range of technologies.
  • - Build and manage relations with the business partners and understand their business requirements.
  • - Closely work with the Product Management, Architects, and cross-functional teams.
  • - Drive architectural specifications for all new incubation concepts leveraging the requirements from product management
  • - Lead and assist the development partners and in-house technical teams to develop and maintain lifecycle of the Toffee platform/service – all frontend apps (current and future supported platforms) and backend
  • - Deliver services/ features based on products roadmaps
  • - Continuously Track performance of products against various system and application performance KPIs
  • - Improve continuously on service by taking relevant corrective and preventive actions
  • - Act as the Technical Lead to manage and drive development working with the selected vendors and interfacing between Digital, Technology
  • - Provide technical expertise and coach the development teams to adopt development best practices using frameworks appropriate frontend and backend technologies etc.
  • - Provide technical expertise and coach the development teams to adopt DevOps tools and processes (CI/CD, automated testing etc.)
  • - Define the operational strategy for Toffee platform/service support using DevOps principles and best practices
  • - Oversee all requests, incidents, and problems. Acting as a hierarchal point of escalation and co-ordinate response to critical issues raised
  • - Establish processes and tools to provide technical support to all applications and resolve issues Secure clear possession of problem identification, its analysis, impact analysis and solutions
  • - Provide comprehensive ad-hoc and monthly reports on Product Support tickets and bugs raised to the in-house development teams
  • - Monitor and manage incoming ticket volumes. Identifying trends and deliver on strategies to reduce overall ticket volumes
  • - Work hand in hand with product management to take products from concept to reality driving pilots with customers
  • - Measure success KPI’s and report on tracks and team performance and business impact. Ensure clear and effective communication at all levels: proactively keep all stakeholders informed of what’s happening, upcoming changes, projects, issues, etc.
  • - Follow agile methodologies and program practices in product development lifecycle and focus on team productivity improvements using right tools and processes.

  • - Build a strong Agile DevOps team, by coaching and developing Engineers, QA, TPM as well as top technical talent, such as Digital Ninjas.

  • - Ensure the team is equipped with the adequate knowledge; Identify training requirements to develop resources
  • - Manage performance of direct reports through objective setting, continuous support and feedback, and formal appraisal
  • - Handle administrative issues including recruitment, leaves, grievances and other issues Provide guidance to employees for their development and career planning; Lead and coach staff
  • - Create synergies and ensure seamless interaction between teams
  • Academic Qualification
  • BSc/MSc in Computer Science & Engineering
  • Job Experience Required
  • - 8~10+ years of Tech Leadership experience with demonstrated success of building, shaping and leading a cross functional Engineering function or business unit at scale.
  • - Good experience and knowledge of operating in a DevOps environment
  • - Good experience and knowledge of operating with Agile processes
  • - Demonstrated experience leading a team of at least 30+ engineers spread across multiple locations and time zones.
  • - Track record of engineering and technical skills before transitioning into a tactical leadership role.
  • - Experience recruiting and building teams, and excellence in the entire recruiting lifecycle. Know how to find and motivate great talent to work with you by fostering a culture of engineering excellence, transparency, opportunity, and growth.

  • Required Capabilities
  • - Advanced understanding of the building distributed systems deployed in a commercial cloud
  • - Nice to have knowledge of the OTT streaming industry, market and environment
  • - Advanced understanding of Software Development Lifecycle model;
  • - Advanced understanding in Agile principles and methodologies (Scrum, SAFe) applicable to the digital product development;
  • - Good technical knowledge and experience in building digital products (e.g. frontend and backend)
  • - Nice to have prior experience in building scalable frontend applications across device platforms (Mobile, Web, smart TVs, STB’s)
  • - Advanced knowledge on DevOps processes and tools – continuous integration(CI), continuous deployment(CD), cloud (AWS, GCP), containerization, infrastructure-as-code;
  • - Sound project management knowledge and experience;
  • - Sound knowledge in business strategy skills to build the solutions necessary to ask the right questions and find the right answers.
