Network Operations Senior Manager, Transmission  
Major Responsibilities
  • Ensure that network outages are minimized through robust preventive measures
  • Lead the daily health check of add drop multiplexer (ADM), synchronized digital hierarchy (SDH) microwave backbone (M/W BB),and DWDMs
  • Oversee biweekly end-to-end testing of dark fibers in different optical fiber (OF) routes, review and analyze the preventive maintenance report and ensure appropriate corrective measures to clear the deficiencies
  • Ensure that vendor selection, troubleshooting, and spare part management activities are conducted with maximum efficiency
  • Identify and assess the nature of faults in the transmission network based on the alarms on different network management system (NMS) terminals or notification from the network monitoring center/supervision (NOC)
  • Monitor and control the actions that are taken as per the SLA in terms of malfunctioning or fault of equipment
  • Follow-up with supply chain to renew the contracts with the vendors before the expiry of service contracts.
  • Follow up in analyzing the WO/WR received from transport network and determine the requirements to execute those within SLA, Coordinate with other technical departments to ensure availability of necessary resources and communicate with the vendors for the above requirements
  • Guide the team to complete the test and acceptance activities of ADMs/SDH M/W links and fiber optic Projects
  • Ensure the finalization of BOQ of fiber related works completed in Project implementation period as well as in preventive and corrective maintenance works, ensure the clearance of all the deficiencies during the release of FAC (final acceptance certificate)
  • Lead the in-house transmission team in preparing the yearly budget for the maintenance of optical fiber network, monitor and ensure the utilization of budget as per the functional plan
Required Academic Qualifications
  • BSc in Electrical, Electronics, or Telecommunication Engineering from any reputed UGC approved institute
Required Experience
  • 12 years of relevant experience in Telecom Industry
Required Knowledge & Skills
  • Sound knowledge of microwave, optical fiber, and add & drop multiplexers (ADMs), dense wavelength division multiplexers (DWDMs)
  • Comprehensive understanding of GSM, UMTS architecture, sites acceptance, Power system and HVAC (heat, ventilation, air conditioning)
  • Thorough familiarity with IP and MPLS technologies
  • Technology
